i suspect everything that occurred happened because of heat stress over heated his brain causing his senses to malfunction. The brain over heated under much stress to function began to drift off in delirium.
Clearly when he stopped by the side of road in a hot day. He would of been wearing protective clothing and helmet restricting airflow to cool the bodies core temperature and his head encased in a crash helmet would of raise the core temperature in his brain to dangerous levels of heat stress.
The signs are there.
First he heard s distant sound. A roaring that got louder and louder. Being a police officer his heat stress impair the brain triggered the notion of some strange sound of vehicle. After all the police officers role is catch traffic offenders.
Thus now exhausted he climbed but struggled to climb up a 2 metre back which is nothing. So we can see he is losing sense of motor skills.
Arriving on the small plateau he saw a black car racing in circles in which he thought was some hoons or some fainted driving in circles? Its heat that his sense of balance is shutting down as his head is spinning.
When the car and two intimidating figures steeped out and was identical he was already having double vision. the strange light of the glass they was that glistened in the sun war his vision beginning to fail. The brain over heated was beginning to shut down his senses to concentrated on keeping organ functioning, It that had not happened he most likely would of had a stroke.
While he was standing confused staring are these strange creatures that walked passed him his body was already in the process of shutting the down his core body temperature was over heating.
Finally as he saw their heads spin 360 it was not these creature but his own spinning head with loss of blood flow causing him to fall to his knees and vomit and faint. Suggests as his body shut down he lost all control over body functions which can be very common in severe heat stress.
Now his loss of time is normal as he wok up in the dark collapsed onto his knees that seemed like seconds because his body shut down enough to keep him alive so his body could cool itself until body temperature came back to normal thus waking up hours later although it seemed to him like second later.
Heatstroke can be deadly and no doubt this police officer had a very close call. But the brain can work in mysterious ways and his malfunction delusion was recorded by his memory in which for him it is hard to distinguish between a real and illusory event.
