Title: Walhalla Ghost Tours
Post by: Brian on June 21, 2005, 10:52:47 PM
The Walhalla Heritage and Development League operates candlelight ghost tours around the historic Gippsland gold mining town of Walhalla on the first Saturday night of every month, or by arrangement. The tours take about 2.5 hours and cover the towns history, haunted sites and the Long Tunnel Extended Mine. (Very interesting photo taken on tour of June 4th this year including aparition of a woman!- with 25 witnesses!) For more information on tours contact the Walhalla Museum (03)5165-6250 (business hours) or www.walhalla.org.au

Thanks Brian,
I actually rang and spoke to a lady at Walhalla and she said she was going to send me some information so that I can scan it and add it to the site here. I don't have it yet though, when it arrives I will add it. I'll also add this post to the Walhalla Tour info.
I may even try to get a grooup of people from Melbourne to come up and do the tour!.

Post by: Christine on May 05, 2006, 08:15:39 PM
We have tried to organise this in the past. The general consensus was it was too expensive and only Tool and myself were willing to pay the money.

We can try for another get together there if you guys are interested?

Rip off.

Post by: FAIRUZ on June 16, 2006, 09:56:59 PM
I don't think its a rip off at all !! Its not something you do everyday, its something you do once for a fun experience and i think $ 100 to spend the night there will be well worth it  :), hope you guys have a good time  :)

Chainz you'd probably not think twice about dropping $100 at the pub on a Saturday night, i know a lot of the teens I work with seem to think thats about right for a night out!

We are still trying to put a group together of 10-12 people so we can have a private investigation on the 29th of July. Please see the investigations thread if you are interested.

Re the fee- some goes to Darren Done as he holds all rights to investigate Nat Trust properties, the rest to National Trust to maintain the property, some to insurance as well.

Personally I think its a fair price when you take into account it is overnight and the numbers will be limited (I hope)

Yes if we do it as a group there will only be us. Also the price will be only $90.

$90 is very reasonable. I was thinking somewhere at $150 each. Who can complain with $90???

Seriously I struggled to get anyone to make contact with me, All I got was a George something or other, so low level emf ais wasn't worth it.

We know that now.

I also did the investigation night at the old melb gaol... it was interesting to me but nothing of interest happened at all. :)
i had a few good readings on the emf meter but that was about it for the night! They put you into cells by yourself, i liked that bit! very creepy.

I did my tour in June this year, they talked about trying to gain access to the watch tower so they could include it in their future investigations. I think the $100 was worth it! I had a good night! :)

No offence, but $100 seems a little steep. It depends on the person I suppose.

Was it just a tour, or was there extra. How long did it last? Thanks

It was the paranormal investigation held at the Old Melb once a month. You have to buy your tickets through Ticketek, and belive me the sell pretty fast.

Basically you arrive there at 9pm and you leave around 5-6am. You are apparently taking part in an ivestigation for the night in which they seperate you into groups and place you in cells with different types of equipment to try and record any paranormal activity.

they did do a little experiment where they asked you if you would like to be locked in a dark cell by yourself for half an hour, which i found to be a little on the 'theatrical' side... more for scares in my opinion.
Other than that i thought it was really interesting and i really liked taking part in it, Although that is the only investigation i have ever been a part of so i'm not sure if thats how they work or not but you get the gist!

:)
Hope that helps!

Fair enough. Maybe i'm just easily pleased!  (small things amuse small minds...) :)
Don't get me wrong, there were some things i thought were crap, and could have been done a lot better, but i had never been on anything even remotely like it so i wouldn't know if they were full of it or not.
when did you guys go? do you know the ppl that run the investigations?

It isn't a newer group of people. It is the same old crew, with the old leader pretending to not be as involved and his old crew pretneding to lead.
