:D I'm actually planning to go on this one around mid Feb....if anyone else is interested we could meet up?
-
:D Hi all!
o.k-i'm now planning to go to Monte Cristo on the 25th March.
Accomodation, bed/breakfast,dinner & tour costs $150-, wonderful price I believe!
As Junee is basically half-way between Sydney & Melbourne I thought this would be the perfect destination & opportunity for some of us to meet up.
Soooo anyone interested?

Mosh, Check the investigation section.

:D Hey Mosh!
If you haven't already checked out our plans for Monte Cristo in the investigations thread...here's the link:

You need to be 15 years old & over to attend a tour there.
If so, you are most welcome to hitch a ride with me. I have one spot left in my car.
We are going for two nights in August, as you will see in the thread.
-
So did anyone end up going on this tour?
If so I'd like to hear of your experiences, as the night I went was extremely active, especially the chapel.
-
Yes we have been there. Do a search on the website for Monte Cristo and the posts will come up.

When are we going again?
-
thats big bickkies Julie!

If I leave Mark and Claire at home it will be cheaper for me than Walhalla.
-
It's quite expensive, you don't get your own room in the bed and breakfast necessarily. And the tour is just that, Reg will walk you through the place and tell you stories. You can take pics etc. We went there once and did an investigation problem was he and Olice go to bed at 10pm and after that time, no-one is allowed in the house because that's where they sleep. So you can set up equipment but not monitor it, you have to collect it in the morning. Problem with that is, it is not a secured area, like we would insist on maitaining during a proper investigation because you can't rule out they could have somehow interferred with the equipment.
I believe now that the tour is self tour not escorted though.
To be honest, the cost of staying which when we went was approx $150pp, we could go to Tasmania and do something there.
We had some limited results at Monte Cristo but the local cemetery was quite active. The ghosts of Monte Cristo are misunderstood, they are not violent etc like they are made out to be. But I understand why they are made out to be the way they are portrayed.
I think our money can be better spent to be honest, especially when we can't conduct a proper investigation.

By any chance, does anyone have a picture of the 'Women Wanted in the new Colony' poster that was in the outside brick room, the one with the chain through the door?
-
Sorry hun, but no.
-
No, I don't.
-
Me neither. YOu have a good memory!
-
I did have it, but I think it was on a computer and/or disk that crashed.
I have found something similar
