Title: The Heidelberg Poltergeist: Melbourne : VIC
Post by: KANACKI on November 16, 2018, 12:58:15 PM
Can the living haunt the living?

The following strange case was reported below in the  Marybourgh chronicle newspaper dated  Wednesday 27th of September 1950.

Widow Mrs J R Byrne aged 81 dying in virtual coma lay dying. Bedridden in the very last stages of life unable move or speak. Even so carers during the distressing time of this old ladies transition between life and death was haunted by strange rapping around the house. Doors closing by themselves and objects move from one room to another. As if some one was wandering around doing cleaning and putting things back into place. Yet the the very person the house belonged to was immobilized in coma in a bed.

The strange events went on until Mrs Byrrne finally passed away.

The house was then sold to the hospital next door.

The house in question is no longer a home but part now of the Heidelberg hospital operating in the capacity as a baby health centre.
Here is some pictures of the house now a baby health centre today below.

Had Mrs Byrnes spirit separated her body in her dying state and was acting out in what she had done in habit during her normal living life?

The strange case poses many questions can some one in coma produce paranormal activity?

Hi KANACKI,

No, the Living cannot haunt the Living, but even people in a Coma can have Out-Of-Body experiences.

Mrs Byrne, in perhaps many Out-Of-Body Experiences, prior to her death was somehow able to move items in her home so that they were in the "correct" position(s).

An interesting thought KANACKI, but it may or may not be the correct answer, just one to postulate on.

Hello Simon

I agree the outer body experience of old lady perhaps think she is going about her daily chores moves things that was not in its right place.

I know this with my mum with dementia she will automatically without thinking place objects back in place they had been in for year.

Hi KANACKI,

Yes, for an initial comparison between Spirit(s) who have died, but unfortunately did not Passover to the Spiritual World and are trapped in that Spirit World between the Physical and Spiritual World, some would continue to move objects they believe are not in the correct place; similar to the early stages of Dementia, that some People also replace objects that they believe are in the wrong place.

Hello Simon

Is that like sort going through the motions of what they was like living? Like a creature of habit even in death or pre death?

My view is yes, KANACKI, others may have different responses.

Hello Simon interesting would this spirit be a responsive spirit or unresponsive spirit acting like a ghost memory than a coherent spirit?

Hi KANACKI, I have a wry smile on my face and I know where you are taking this, by the very intelligent questions you have. LOL and ROFL

I think I can provide a possible answer but ask if you could wait until my, not so final, Post.

I’m always interested in understanding more about ghosts (echoes of events) and ‘responsive spirits’ as Kanacki describes them. It’ll be great to see how this thread progresses!

I once met a (what I thought was ) ghost. Turned out it was a person in a coma.

Hello Christine I gather what you saw some one having an outer body experience, Was the person standing or lying horizontal?

Welcome to the thread Christine and Violet.

KANACKI, a continuation of my last Post.

My view is that just as Spirits can be responsive a person in a Coma and experiencing an out-of-body event could be very "self" aware and responsive, whilst those in a similar situation but are not self aware may seem quite confused or believe that, what they are experiencing is a dream/dream state.

Hello Simon

Watching my old mum talking and doing chores around the house in her dreams in her sleep. I wonder at what point the mind separates from the physical body? For example could some one having an OBE actually create objects to move?

I wonder what the brain was doing in her final moments of her life in a coma?  Was she dreaming of doing the house work. was she having an OBE . Most of all could a a person having an outer body experience actually move objects?

Oh KANACKI, I have made that connection with you and am now crying as I feel your pain.

The brain starts to shut down once the "process of dying" commences, but what we are talking about is the activity of the Spirit of the person in a Coma or undergoing the process of dying. As an exmaple, if you had a friend in an advanced Dementia and was being fed, etc., via tubes/catheter, as she was in a vegative state, then her organs started to fail... (this is what I mean by the "process of dying").

Spirits ma act upon the strongest thoughts of a person and if this is rearanging items that are out of sequence, this may very well be possible, in my opinion.

I hope this helps KANACKI, if not please let me know.

Hello Simon.

Interesting thoughts. We still today do not fully understand the powers of our own brains. And certain states the brain goes through. Especially in a declining state or coma.

Hello Simon

Watching my mum slow decline is sad but also en lighting one. For example during the day she has ups and downs some times awake she is in coherent. When she is asleep she talks in her sleep she talks very articulate. The brain can function in amazing ways.
