I tried booking in to do the Destiny Tour of Canberra while I was there over the new year period. I would have thought they would run most weekends at the least being such a large company etc. Also they were on hte radio talking about Haunted Canberra the week before Ch5ristmas.

Anyway I was told when I called they had no tours planned til the end of January and I could s=do one then, they might be able to fit me in.

Not very good considering I was only there for 4 days and that did include a weekend. Given it was peak holiday/tourist season.

Hopefully they will be running them when I go back in May/June this year.

Elvira.  What a hoot!   When we went on the Queen Mary, they were using the big auditorium for the competition to choose the next American Elvira because the then current one had retired.   All you could see in the corridors were females dresses in Elvira gear.  It was hilarious.

Hope its running next time you go there.

I'm not sure what they use her for in the US either - I think as the front person for the horror movies on late TV.   Something like that.

Haunted Canberra Tours were booked through Destiny Tours in Sydney. However, Alan the owner of Destiny in Sydney has retired. Ghost Tours Pty Ltd (www.ghost-tours.com.au) will soon be handling all of Tim's bookings for Haunted Canberra. This should be up and running by the end of April. Right now I believe Tim is having a well earned break.

I was in Canberra early new year. I tried to book in for a tour for a few people. I was told there were no tours but if I came back in a few months there would be a vacancy then. Didn't help me much when I was there at that time. It was very frustrating indeed.

I can't see the point of most of Canberra being closed over the main holiday break we have in our country, especially with tours etc like this. There were stacks of tourists in Canberra at that time and many frustrated like I was.

It was Destiny Tours I called, got the phone numbers from their website.

I thought it was terribly slack they had no tours running over this time when they been on the radio in Canberra (Tim the Yowie Man), promoting Haunted Canberra only a few weeks prior.
