Although most people would probably choose other accommodations if they found out the inn they had chosen had a haunted reputation, there are others that would love the experience. Many people seek out the opportunity to have some supernatural experiences and there are many locations and buildings around the country which have a ghostly history. While it is possible to visit and tour some of these during the day, staying overnight can make it a more scary experience. There are many bed and breakfast  inns around the country where you have the chance to sleep, or not as the case may be, in a haunted house. These days there are 11 guest rooms to choose from and over the years there have been many reports of supernatural occurrences in an around the building. Many people have reported seeing the ghost of an old lady in a green hat while others have reported ghostly children in various locations around the building. The Bourbons Orleans is located in the French Quarter of New Orleans and is almost 200 years old. Originally constructed in 1817 as a ballroom by John Davis it has variously been a dance hall, a convent and school for an order of nuns and also a guesthouse. There are a few stories of ghosts haunting the building and these are said to include a Confederate soldier who has been seen on the sixth and seventh floors. There have also been ghostly apparitions of children and women and these may have been people that lived in the building when it was a convent and school. Another tale relates to a ghostly dancer that performs under the crystal chandelier of the ballroom. A visit to the Bourbons Orleans Hotel will provide the opportunity for a supernatural experience and can be a good location to visit if you want the chance to see a ghost.

Isn't there a vid on youtube about an investigation done there at Myrtle Plantation?  I seem to remember them walking around in the now empty staff quarters or a room that's haunted.

You might be interested in having a look karen if you haven't seen it before.

I have seen all of these locations on a program called Weird Travels, (I think) on foxtel a couple of years ago.  They look fantastic.
