FlashChat has passed on
« on: May 17, 2010, 09:58:40 PM »
We gather here today to rejoice in the passing of Flash Chat whilst kicking those responsible for it's development in the shins for it's many and numerous security problems.

We will forever have spiteful memories of poor client and server side performance, high latency, the continual bugs and lack of updates and support.

If you haven't worked out already, I'm killing FlashChat for good. They've released a new version and it's still just as bad if not worse. I'm no longer going to wait for the developer to learn to code and I haven't got time to fix the problems with it.

Currently investigating alternatives, the one I am testing at the moment is not as feature rich but is cleaner and faster (Doesn't rely on flash). Not only that it's written by someone who can actually code (My eyes don't bleed when I look at the code now :P)

WOOHOO...so when can we hold the wake?

One day my light went out, but was blown again into flame by an encounter with some wonderful people I call friends. I owe the deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this inner light...

RIP Flashchat. I wish we had many happy memories....but we don't. You froze me out, you threw me out, you were mean and cold to me....goodbye.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.
