How to add 'bells and whistles' to your posts

Here are some things to help you personalise your signatures.

You add this under Profile > Signature

-Adding an image
Your image MUST be on the internet NOT on your computer for it to display.

-Changing text colour
This text is red
Only use simple colours. (E.g Red, not some mangleated sixth millionith version of pink or mauve)

-How to place an URL without showing actual link
Your text here

You can also put two together. You can have a picture link to a webpage.

If you would like any more then just ask me  8)
There's always the Back button. Is your browser up to date?

I was just wondering - where does one go to find pictures of this nature?

Hi Flutterbit,
do you mean the pictures we are using as avatars on the site?
Mostly I have collected them over the years because I liked the look of them, then I changed the size to suit the forum. Or you can do a search on avatar images on google.
Is that what you meant?

Hey Christine,

No, not the avatars (which I like btw) I was talking about the little pictures that you can put in your signature.  I never figured out how to make them work.

It is the same as putting an image in your post, you use BB Code.

Eg.
Code: [Select]

So where do we insert the code? Is it under the Profiles----Signature section?

Hi, adding a picture.
If it is hosted up on some server somewhere simply copy the link by selecting it in the address bar of the browser and pressing CONTROL C then paste it (CONTROL V) into your post. Then select it in your post and click on the IMG button under the subject line.

eg my link is http://www.paranormal.com.au/images/corporate3.jpg
to make the picture come up I paste or type the address of the picture ina and then select it and click on the IMG button.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

If you see a picture you like on the internet- to get them do a google search on a topic you like and click IMAGES then click search. It will come up with all sorts of little pictures. Then right click on the picture and select save as. Save it somewhere on your computer. Then open the picture up in a graphics program such as Photoshop or Fireworks. You can then change the size. So if the picture you want it too big you can modify the iamge size to make it smaller.

Try searching things like, fairy, pixie, spooky, haunted, cute, animal etc.

Just remeber, 1 of the more popular places to host your images is Imageshack.

I have heaps of avies in photobucket but no matter what I do the picture won't link. Normally I just copy and paste the image details but nothing.

Help please.

Great information to know.

Thank you all.
To practice five things under all circumstances constitutes perfect virtue;

These five are gravity, generosity of (the) soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.
