Kiama
« on: September 21, 2008, 04:14:16 PM »
In 1909, April 23rd eddition,  the 'Robertson Advocate' ran an article about a cat the size of a mastiff dog, prowling the hills around Kiama.  Kiama is only 20ks north of Kangaroo Valley.  This cat was black and was referred to as the 'Jamberoo Tiger'

information was sourced from "out of the Shadows" by Tom Healy and Paul Cropper.  1994

Jamberoo, I know that area too.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

It would not suprise me. I have lived near Jamberoo all my life and know the hills and mountains well. There is an endless food souce of deer in plague proportions along the illawarra south coast enscarpment and a large enough range for big cats to prowl.
