GHOST HUNTING IN PICTON

For the last eight years, local historian and tour guide, Liz Vincent has
run ghost  hunts on Friday and Saturday nights in Picton.  Participants are treated to tales of some of Picton's scariest residents and visit their
haunted hideaways. One weekend ghost hunts are done around a 2 course meal, the next around a supper.
The two course meal is provided by "The Art on Argyle Café" in the haunted old post office building on the corner of Menangle and Argyle Streets Picton.

The dinner evenings begins at 7-00pm on a Saturday, 7-30pm on a Friday when the main course is served.  Following that, participants will walk the
streets of Picton hearing about the ghosts of Picton past while viewing many homes and buildings hearing the tales of paranormal activity within.

Participants will  see where the baker cut his throat, the visitor shot
himself and where the shopkeeper hanged herself.  Then it's up the hill to
the Redbank Range Tunnel.  It is also a little darker. It is here the
highlight of the evening occurs when  participants are taken through an
historic, disused railway tunnel and must be brave enough to stand in the
dark to watch and wait. The evening finishes with dessert and coffee to stop the pounding hearts.

Those interested can make single ticket bookings or make up tables of any number. Cost is $50-00 a head for the two course dinner and tour.
The Supper Ghost Hunt at $35 per head is ideal for those on a tight budget or diet.  Here the participants do the tour in its entirety and finish with a delicious supper at "The Art on Argyle Cafe".  Supper nights start at
7-30pm on a Saturday, 8pm on a Friday.  Stand-by "tour only" is available on supper nights for $25 a head.

Participants are advised to bring sensible walking shoes, a torch, a strong
heart and an umbrella in case of inclement weather or as a protection to
ward off over zealous ghosts.

All participants receive a certificate of survival.
Private tours for adults or kids are done Monday through to Thursday where participants can change the tour to suit, minimum 15 people.
Kids Ghost Hunts are held during the school holidays at $13 per kid 13 and under, same price for parent.  Kids tours for the 14 to 17 age group
separate night is $15 a head. Scary birthday parties can also be arranged,
Monday to Thursday only, minimum 15 victims required.

The books where previous participants have entered their  experiences on the tours plus the photo display of strange paranormal photos taken on the tours are available to participants and are always of great interest. The book "Ghosts of Picton Past" written by Liz is also available for purchase.  For current information  on our other ghost tours on a coach, check the website.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Perhaps we can plan a regular upper Picton tour early in the year?
It also covers the tunnel.
