Learning about Chakras
« on: July 19, 2005, 08:37:49 PM »
Introduction to the Chakras.

Chakras are doors to the inner worlds. What you are and what you have been is shown in your chakras. The development of the chakras, their purity and which chakras you function through tell us a great deal about the individual.

We are going to look at the each of the seven major chakras and specific characteristics that relate to each of them. We are going to look at awakening the chakras and the role they play in healing.  As chakras are focal points for the energies of the subtle bodies where energy patterns are stored and assessed, it is important to look at why chakras are the key to restoring balance and for healing.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word for wheel. The chakras are wheel like vortices in the different bodies of the personality. They are force centres where forces and energies interplay. They are also connection points where energy flows from one body of consciousness into another.

The endocrine and central nervous system are the two systems that are constantly creating a balance within the body. An example of the endocrine system is, if we eat some food that has sugar in it, the pancreas puts out insulin to take out that sugar from the blood, and distributes it to where it can be used in the body. An example of the central nervous system is, you may accidentally put your fingers on a hot element, the nerves pick up a message of pain, that is then sent to the brain that tells you to lift your fingers off the element. The chakras, which correspond and relate to the endocrine glands and nervous system are very important as they integrate the energies of not only the physical body, but all the bodies. That is the physical, etheric, emotional, mental, spiritual or causal as all are totally interconnected. The chakras need to be kept balanced, and the energy flowing so that we may function to our full potential, on all levels of our being. The chakras that are not in the physical body link us to subtle energies. Our interconnectiveness with the Earth and Star, our higher vibrational frequencies, as we expand to encompass all of our true self.

The chakras relate what is happening to you on all levels, eg. If you are eating a lot of food that is in disharmony with your body's needs, this affects the solar plexus chakra, which relates to the digestive system. You could become emotionally depressed or angry, have difficulty thinking clearly and so be blocking our spiritual or higher self from operating. as this chakra also relates to us being in our personal power. Therefore the solar plexus chakra is blocked. Or you may have an emotional problem that creates the physical imbalance, and the need to eat the wrong food, and so block this chakra on all levels. By balancing your chakras you assist in the healing and balancing of all your bodies. If you also empower yourself to be aware of diet, thoughts, words spoken and maintain emotional balance, coming from acceptance and an open heart, then you will create your vehicle to be clear and radiant on all levels of your being.

Major Chakras
The chakras within the etheric body are classified as major chakras and lesser chakras. There are seven major chakras
The root or base chakra
The sacral chakra
The solar plexus chakra
The heart chakra
The third eye chakra
The crown chakra

Chakra map and number

The major chakras are greater in size than the lesser chakras, they govern larger and more important areas of the body, their development relates more specifically to one's level of consciousness and shows much about the individual. The lesser chakras, on the other hand, although acting as a focus of energy within the etheric body, are not as important as the major chakras and in that they do not hold such strong energies and forces, they do not govern vital organs and areas of the body, and they do not have an intimate association with the endocrine glands etc.

Some of the lesser chakras include -Two in the palms of the hands
Two in the soles of the feet
One close to the liver
Two at the back of the knees
Two in front of the ears where the jaw bones are connected
Even smaller chakras in association with joints, eg. knees, elbows, wrists, etc.

Those in the palms of the hands and those in the soles of the feet, like all chakras are transmitters and absorbers or energy. The palm chakras are able to transmit healing energies. Homeopathic remedies, flower and gem essences should not be held in the palm of the hand because their energy pattern is immediately absorbed by the palm chakra. The chakras in the soles of the feet absorb energy from the planet, the ground beneath our feet. They are involved in earthing or grounding the body's energies and in helping to create a complete circuit for healing energies. This is why both healer and client need to be aware of this connection at the start of a healing session. This connection should also be emphasised at the start of meditation and/or conclusion or any other spiritual exercise.

As we study each of the seven major chakras we shall discuss characteristics about each chakra including -

The location - the chakras are located in specific areas of the etheric body. Their position will be described in relation to anatomical landmarks in the physical body.

Chakra energy diagram

The number of petals - Clairvoyant observation of the chakras seems them as having sections or divisions, many writers refer to these as the `petals' of the chakras or as having a number of spokes and therefore a corresponding number of divisions. The chakras or force centres are points of connection at which energy flows from one vehicle or body of a man into another. Anyone who possesses a slight degree of clairvoyance may easily see them in the etheric double, where they show themselves as saucer-like depressions or vortices in its surface. When quite undeveloped they appear as small circles about two inches in diameter, glowing dull in the ordinary man, but when awakened and vivified they are seen as blazing whirlpools, emanating flashes of light, increased in size and resembling mini suns.

It is the movement of forces within a chakra that creates the appearance of a chakra having segments or petals. The number of petals that can be seen is determined by the development of each chakra, or how open the chakra is. One needs to understand that each of the chakras is a focus of energies and forces in motion. However, the amount of activity and the purity of the energies within the chakras vary greatly from individual to individual. How you have lived determines the nature of the energies and the amount of activity within your chakras. Consider, e.g. the heart chakra, when fully opened it has 12 petals, but it takes hundreds of lives to open those petals.

It is really only in a higher developed individual that you would find a heart chakra that has opened to display its 12 petals. In an average individual one may find 5 or 6 petals open, in a more developed individual perhaps 7 or 8 and in an even more developed individual maybe 9 or 10. It is how one has lived one's life and how much love one has truly brought into one's life that affects the opening of the heart.

The state of the chakras shows a great deal about the individual. It is not only how much the chakra is open which is relevant, but how much darkness there is within the chakra. We have all walked varying paths on this Earth. Therefore we may have given some of our lives to the Christ, developing love and compassion for others, and as a result the heart may have opened to a certain degree, but these more holy lives have been interspersed between with lives where we have abused energies, where we have treated our fellow brothers and sisters badly, where we have fought for power, where we have lied and cheated and killed etc. The darkness is deposited in the chakras. Even in the heart, which we tend to think of as being a focus of love, there is much darkness. For our heart is like a mirror of ourselves, and the darkness in our heart represents many of our misdemeanors.

The area of the body governed by the chakra - One of the main functions of the etheric body is to convey prana, which may also be thought of as life energy or vitality, to the denser physical body. A chakra, as a focus of energies within the etheric body, can also be thought of as a power station from which prana is distributed through the etheric body. Each of the seven major chakras governs, or is responsible for, a specific area of the body to which it relays the life force. Therefore a blockage in a chakra, will manifest physically as a malfunction within that area and the associated organs.

Knowledge of the chakras and the anatomical area governed by a chakra, is very important in healing work. If someone presents to you with a physical ailment you can use this knowledge to identify which chakra is in need of healing. Of course as part of your healing work you can visualise light pouring into the organ of the part of the body which is affected, but if you also work to heal the associated chakra, you are addressing the cause (the chakra) as well as the effect (the body part).

The associated endocrine gland - For each of the 7 major chakras there is an associated endocrine gland (a gland which secretes hormones). In fact the endocrine gland is considered to be the dense physical counterpart of the chakra. However, the chakra and its associated endocrine gland are not necessarily close anatomically. Eg. The base chakra at the base of the spine and the adrenal glands at the top of the kidneys. There is a definite association between the chakra, the endocrine gland and health. Eg. Diabetes which is a result of malfunction in the pancreas is often the result of shock. A severe shock to the astral body, either in this life or a previous life, affects the solar plexus chakra and hence it’s associated endocrine gland, the pancreas. The resultant malfunction affects certain metabolic processes in the body, especially that of glucose metabolism.

The associated levels of consciousness - The chakras are the doors to the inner worlds.

As you develop and open each chakra, you open to the level of consciousness that chakra is related to. The chakras vibrate at a certain rate, or a certain level of frequency. The frequency of vibration of a chakra matches the frequency of vibration of a level of consciousness. Therefore an awakened chakra enables you to receive and to respond to energies, forces, impulses, beings, etc. from whichever level that chakra opens to. A particular chakra is responsive to a particular frequency. If the frequency of vibration of a chakra corresponds to a particular level of consciousness that it is the only one the chakra is able to `pick up' because that is the only it is open and responsive to. Eg. The solar plexus chakra corresponds to the astral/lower mental level of consciousness. It could be described as vibrating at a frequency which is the same as the frequency of the astral/lower mental level. Consequently the solar plexus chakra can receive impulses and messages from the astral and lower mental levels, but it could never receive messages from the soul level because it cannot tune into the right frequency to receive3 transmissions from the soul. Understanding which level of consciousness a particular chakra opens to gives more insight into the nature of a chakra and why it responds to certain energies, which we identify as qualities associated with that chakra.

The associated qualities - The understanding that the chakras have certain qualities, is built upon the understanding of a chakra as a focus of energies and a focus of consciousness. Each of the chakras, although intimately connected, is also an independent entity in one sense. This is why the different chakras have a different number of petals, why they govern different areas of the body, ~why they have different levels of consciousness and qualities associated with them. A chakra, as a focus of consciousness, has qualities associated with that consciousness, and depending on the state of the chakra these qualities may or may not be expressed. Eg. The unconditional love of the heart chakra will not be expressed through a heart that is barely open, or a chakra obscured by darkness. The saint-like qualities of an awakened and pure solar plexus chakra will not be seen if the chakra is consumed by negative thoughts and feelings. Therefore the higher qualities of each chakra relate to a potential within the chakra, qualities they may manifest after the chakra has opened and purified. In most people these qualities are hidden by the lower characteristics which tend to dominate humanity at this time. Hence we find people who seem to have `no heart' or `ice-cold hearts' and men and women who are so busy gratifying the personality that saint-like qualities are many lives away. Nevertheless, throughout hundreds and thousands of embodiments as one develops and walks upon the spiritual path, the chakras also develop and the higher qualities associated with them slowly manifest.

Other Characteristics - Other characteristics which many texts often associate with the chakras, include colours and sounds. Both the colours and sounds are expressions of energy, and it is found to deepen one's knowledge and understanding of the chakra, eg. Through an associated colour. However, you may find a great deal of variation between different texts concerning the appearance, and therefore the colour, of the chakras.

This discrepancy occurs because how the chakra is `seen' depends on the clairvoyant who is observing the chakra. It is affected by the level of consciousness of the clairvoyant, the accuracy of the clairvoyant, the training and experience of the clairvoyant etc. Some texts on the chakras may include information, such as meditation techniques or specific exercises, for stimulating and awakening the chakras. I would like to stress that I do not recommend that you use any techniques to stimulate and awaken the chakras unless you are under the supervision of an experienced spiritual healer. By working with such techniques you may be setting forces in motion that you will have difficulty controlling later. The best way to open the chakras is through the natural process which occurs as one develops spiritually.

Coming next- The Root or Base Chakra

The Root or Base Chakra
« Reply #1 on: July 31, 2005, 10:53:48 PM »
1.The Root or Base Chakra

The base chakra is located at the base of the spine.
It has 4 petals.
The colour of the Base Chakra is red.
It governs the skeletal system, especially the spine and the blood. The endocrine glands are the adrenal glands.
It is associated with the physical/etheric level of consciousness.
The kundalini lies coiled in the base chakra.

This centre is our link with nature and the planet Earth. It deals with all issues of a physical nature -the body, the senses and sensuality, aggression and self-defence. Basic instincts of survival, the instinct of hunting for food, protecting oneself and one's loved ones. It is possibly because of this survival consciousness and the memories and energies associated with fighting for our own survival (against other humans, animals, nature, etc.) and defending our families from any threatening attack or the environment, that this chakra often holds a lot of fear. It is the association of the base chakra with this fundamental instinct of self preservation that gives it a quality of the will to live. Because it relates much to our physical existence one can understand why it is described as the chakra where Spirit and matter meet. For Spirit and matter must meet in order for there to be physical manifestation or existence. I tend to think of this chakra as relating to the Earth element and to Mother Earth. It is as if people are attached to the Earth through this chakra. It gives a type of solidarity and grounding to people. When the base chakra is being stimulated there is a sensation of warmth at the base of the coccyx.

It is interesting to note that even though the chakras govern particular anatomical systems, (usually relating to vital systems or organs they also have an affect over more local areas when they are cleansing. Eg. The base chakra governs the skeletal system and the blood. However, when it is cleansing it also produces local effects, such as thrush in females. Whenever any of the major chakras cleanse you can get local skin problems such as pimples or boils. In the case of the base they may be found around the tops of the highs or similarly local areas. Its energies also affect the lower parts of the pelvis, the hips, legs, and feet.

Within the etheric body there is an energy flow between the lower and higher chakras. The lower chakras are those chakras beneath the diaphragm, and the higher chakras are those chakras above the diaphragm. For each of the lower chakras, there is a corresponding higher chakra, and a transference of energy from the lower chakra to the higher chakra. The base chakra transfers energy to th4e crown chakra. The chakra vibrates to the colour red, when in a state of balance. Like all chakra colours, it is seen with inner vision and is not identical with the colours of the physical spectrum. When seeking to obtain balance in any centre, the colours should be vibrant and without any area of shadow or darkness.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

The Sacral Chakra
« Reply #2 on: August 05, 2005, 10:41:21 PM »
2. The Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is located around the level below the naval in the front of the body, or the lower back (upper lumbar region) in the back of the body.
It has 6 petals.
Its colour is orange.
It governs the organs of reproduction.
The endocrine glands are the gonads.
The associated level of consciousness is the etheric/astral level
The Sacral Chakra vibrates to the colour orange

This chakra deals with all issues of creativity and sexuality (how we express ourselves sexually). It is the seat of joy and the place where the `inner child' is originally located. At the physical level, it is linked to the testes in the male and the ovaries in the female. Its energies also affect the womb, the lower digestive organs and the lower back. Many males often suffer lower back pain because of this energy misuse.

The sacral chakra holds the will to procreate, it is therefore related to the sexual organs physically, and the energies within the sacral chakra of most people relate to the energies of sex, and frequently misuse of these energies. Often when people who have relationship problems (such as a pattern of attracting difficult relationships) present for healings, I find strong energies needing to be healed within the sacral chakra, negative sexual ties that need to be transmuted. People with a very active sacral chakra emit a, strong energy around the lower part of their body.

Long held negative emotions block the chakra, a need to purge this chakra by becoming aware of these emotions and communicating them, brings balance between masculine/feminine energies, manifesting and bringing into ford all creation in balance. It is an unfortunate truth that the energy of sex has a dominant influence upon most people. Most peoples’ lives are driven by a desire for sex a lust that lives for a moment of gratification. Unfortunately people are so rule by impure energies in this chakra that it has a type of decaying effect in the consciousness of humanity. It seems to bring out -the very worst in people. People use sex to manipulate others, to get what they want, to feel fulfilled on the outer because the inner is empty or not connected, to feel the maleness or femaleness within another because they are not in touch with it within themselves, or to feel the connection to Spirit when having an orgasm, is the only time some people can feel the connection. Many people take a beautiful, intimate, loving act and turn it into something degrading by using it as a manipulative tool in a negative energy.

In many partnerships today, the relationship is built upon interactions between the lower chakras. Unfortunately because the heart chakra is not involved, a great number of people find their partner becomes boring and consequently look elsewhere. Often they enter into a affair and then they may lie or cheat, they may neglect responsibilities to their partner or to their children, all for the sake of the lower desires of the lower chakras. When the affair becomes dull, they may move onto another one. This is a common picture we see in this life, therefore you can imagine how many lives of misuse of the sexual energies people carry in the sacral chakra.

Although the sacral chakra is very strongly related to the misuse of sexual energies (including the misuse of sex in rites and ceremonies, and child abuse) its negative equalities also relate to the need for power and money. People will use sex to gain power and money, and vice versa, it becomes a very manipulative energy, stimulating and feeding the lower nature. Similarly the desire for power and money will allow people (both men and women) to use this energy in a negative manner.

There is a strong interplay between the sacral and solar plexus chakras. When you are working on healing the complexes of money, power and sex, both of these chakras can be actively involved. Therefore do not think of the sacral chakra as the only chakra that relates to sex, and the solar plexus chakra as the only chakra that stimulates the need for power and money. There is a strong interplay of the energies, sex, power and money, and hence a strong interplay between the sacral and solar plexus chakras in relation to these complexes.

The sacral chakra transfers energy to the throat chakra. We find in people with an overactive sacral chakra, they usually have a corresponding excess of activity in the throat chakra and a tendency to speak a lot. Their speech is often used in a masked, manipulative way with a lower desire attached to it. Although they may be quite intelligent people, they do not seem to be engaging their higher mental body in their speech. With others who constantly chatter, it can be very tiring to be around such people for a prolonged period of time. They presumably, use and lose a lot of energy through their speech. Those with an underactive sacral chakra are not expressing their emotions or feelings or are blocking or pushing emotional issues down. When in a state of balance, the sacral chakra vibrates to the colour orange.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

The Solar Plexus Chakra
« Reply #3 on: August 13, 2005, 09:37:29 PM »
3. The Solar Plexus Chakra

Located in the region of the middle upper abdomen, below the base of the rib cage, front and in the midline below the shoulder blades, back.
It has 10 petals.
It governs the organs of the abdominal cavity, ie. The stomach, the liver and gall bladder, the small intestine and the large intestine.
The endocrine gland is the pancreas.
The associated level of consciousness is the lower astral/mental plane.
The solar plexus chakra vibrates to the colour yellow, bright golden yellow.

The solar plexus is where we feel `butterflies' in the stomach. Here the mind and personality find expression. The `lower' emotions based on fear - anxiety, insecurity, jealousy, anger are generated here also, creating the important link between mind and the emotions. What we think, whether positive or negative, has a great effect on our feelings and emotions. It is in the solar plexus chakra that negative energies related to thoughts and feelings are processed. This is the place of the `wounded child' although this child may also be found in the sacral or base chakras, according to the level of trauma which has prevented its emotional maturity.

Its energies also affect the digestive system, the pancreas, liver, gall bladder, diaphragm and so breathing, and middle back. The solar plexus chakra governs the lower astral/mental body. The solar plexus chakra is the ruling and governing chakra in most people. Either disempowering or empowering others or yourself. The solar plexus chakra is the most influential of the chakras, its energies tend to permeate and influence the consciousness of most people. If these energies are not purified, which they usually are not, the result is that unpurified energies from the solar plexus chakra are usually dominating the personality. The effect is that in most cases, people are predominately influenced and ruled by their own selfish desires and glamour’s.

People utilise the powers of their intellect and they also are influenced by their astral nature. Their emotions control their thoughts, speech and actions. They do not necessarily have emotions such as anger, jealousy, depression, etc. they can be subtle emotions, such as the desire to be liked, the energy of ambition, the wish to be in control (due to a power complex due to lack of power within, therefore the power to control the outside), the desire for materialistic gain, etc. All these astral energies are at play within our astral body and it is these emotions which so govern people. That is why we say people think with their astral bodies, because even if one can use one's mental body (and ones reasoning and logic), usually one's decisions are strongly influenced by one's desire nature, so that in effect one thinks with one's astral body.

Despite the strong development of the solar plexus chakra in most people it is far from spiritualised. Like the sacral chakra it holds a lot of negative energy, for it has seen the misuse of astral forces, due to personality weaknesses, developed throughout many lives. Because of the close proximity of the solar plexus chakra to the heart chakra, people often mistake activity in the solar plexus for that of the heart. A person may feel that he/she has an open heart chakra because the solar plexus chakra is so large and it feels as if he/she is sensing, or experiencing, energy in the vicinity of the heart. People also often misinterpret energies and believe that when they feel the astral emotion of love, they are experiencing the unconditional love of the heart chakra, similarly the pity one feels is often misinterpreted as compassion. The vibrations of the energies of astral love and unconditional love, and the qualities or the solar plexus and the heart chakra are quite different, but because people have lived in their astral bodies and their solar plexus chakras for so many lives, they do not appreciate the difference between astral energies and lower mental energies, and the higher qualities of the heart.
A purified solar plexus chakra radiates the divine qualities of pure devotion, love for an ideal and dedication to a cause, and radiates a power within. Energies from the solar plexus are transferred to the third eye. When in a state of balance the solar plexus chakra vibrates to the colour yellow, bright golden yellow.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

The Heart Chakra
« Reply #4 on: September 16, 2005, 08:01:36 PM »
4. The Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is located in the middle of the chest, between the breasts front, and between the shoulder blades back.
It has 12 petals.
It governs the heart and lungs.
The endocrine gland is the thymus.
The heart chakra vibrates to the colour green.

It has been only within the past decade or so that the thymus gland has received much attention within the medical community. Some of the older texts do not even list the thymus gland as part of the endocrine system. But with the advent of aids, and other related disorders, the thymus has attracted much interest in relation to the crucial role it plays in the immune system of the body. It is interesting to note that some therapists, such as Louise Hay, who are having success in helping to strengthen the immune system, focus primarily on learning to feel more love for oneself The associated levels of consciousness are the higher mental and soul.

The heart chakra (together with the crown) is the most difficult chakra to awaken. Humanity has developed the throat chakra and the third eye but the development of the heart has been by passed. It is difficult to develop and awaken the heart because we have been so influenced by the negative characteristics of the personality, that negative behavioural patterns come naturally to us, whereas behavioural patterns that express goodwill and love are somewhat foreign to the personality, and have to be worked at.

You cannot awaken the heart through knowledge and intellect (as you can the throat and the third eye). The heart is awoken through suffering and pain, which most people will avoid as much as they can, and through selfless service. Selfless service does not come naturally to the personality, the characteristics of the personality throughout hundreds or thousands of embodiments has been built upon selfishness. Hence, the inherent nature of the personality tends to be selfish rather than selfless. Major inner changes are necessary in order to awaken the heart. One must be willing to sacrifice many old habits, old desires, old thoughts and replace them with much higher principles and ideals in life.
This is actually very difficult to do because you have to change personality characteristics that you may have had for hundreds of lives. Only a strong desire and a dedication and determination to grow can do this. This is the place of the soul, our inner guidance, and the seat of the `higher emotions' based on unconditional love, such as empathy, compassion, true love, friendship, sister and brotherhood. At this level, feeling remains unconditioned by the mind. It is not enough to study books on how to develop the heart, you have to put good deeds, good behaviour and good thinking into action, which leads to the development of love.

As the heart awakens and the Christ consciousness is slowly able to express itself, one sees the development of group consciousness and unconditional love. Group consciousness is more than coming together as a group to meditate, etc. group consciousness refers to an attitude within the personality where the goals of the group are more important than the desires or needs of the personality. Eg. one will not allow personality clashes to prevent the work from going forward. When one is group conscious the work of the group comes first, the needs of the group are given a greater priority than one's own selfish needs.

Many of us can give love when those to whom we express love respond in away that we find acceptable. This is conditional love, we are able to give because we are getting something in return. It takes a very purified personality to be able to give unconditionally, because then you continue to give even if someone disappoints you, lets you down, or even turns on you. If you love unconditionally you can harbour no resentment, no anger, no irritation of any kind, you have to be able to turn the other cheek, and understand or `see' the higher process in motion. Very few people can manifest such love because either consciously or subconsciously they close to others if they are disappointed by their actions, or may feel angry, irritated, abused, used and hurt because they gave love. It especially occurs if the other party does not live up to our expectations of them or does not fulfill their end of the `bargain'. In effect we find we are only able to give love when someone behaves in accordance with our expectations or fulfills conditions we have formulated.

When the heart is involved there is compassion and unconditional love. The heart opens and awakens after hundreds of lives of suffering and experiences. As it is purified one develops great compassion because one recognises weaknesses in others, having acted that way in the past themselves, one identifies with the suffering because one has been through so much, one understands the shadow aspects when they manifest in another because one has had to conquer numerous shadow aspects in themselves. Therefore one learns to love because one recognises oneself in others, because one sees how inexperienced others are at a personality level but at a soul level we are all one soul just struggling to evolve and experience. To love unconditionally one must learn to give and expect nothing in return.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Learning about Chakras
« Reply #5 on: September 30, 2005, 01:25:13 AM »
Hi Cristine

I am loving all the information that you have here, but I have one question. For I know very little about chakras.

Last night as I was meditating, in my minds eye I saw this emanating rainbow light shooting out from my heart chakra, with this golden light that seem to be at the beginning of the rainbow light. The golden light seem to embrace the rainbow light, then it looked like a whirlpool starting off small near my chest then enlarging as it started to spread around the room.

Since the heart chakra vibrates to the colour green, what does it mean when there is a rainbow and a golden colour coming from the heart chakra?

Thanks

Hi Angel,
although the chakra vibrates to the colour green that does not mean it can't be seen in other colours as well. The colours can change depending on what is happening within the chakra. For example if someone is relying alot on their third eye chakra, then that may appear red or black or white depending on whether it is positive or negative. It makes sense youmay see rainbow colours as they basically are all of the colours of the chakras  combined. Not sure if that helps you or not. Interesting question Angel.

The Throat Chakra
« Reply #7 on: November 04, 2005, 09:04:33 PM »
5. The Throat Chakra
The throat chakra is located over the throat front, and just below the base of the skull back.
It has 16 petals.
A lot of texts indicate the throat chakra as governing the breathing apparatus, including the lungs, however, I feel that difficulty with lungs usually relates to stimulation of the heart chakra and thymus (high heart) chakra (more later). The throat chakra, when it is being cleansed or stimulated, produces problems in the larynx, (affecting the voice) the throat, and mouth (dental problems, tooth abscess).
the throat chakra vibrates to the colour sky blue.

Therefore, although I believe the throat chakra may influence the lungs, I consider it to also govern the throat, including the upper part of the trachea (wind pipe), the larynx (voice box), and the pharynx (back of mouth), and also the mouth including the jaw and teeth, and extending up into the ears. It is the chakra of the ears, nose and throat. The endocrine gland is the thyroid.
The associated level of consciousness is higher astral.

The throat chakra deals with all forms of communication and expression, whether through language, art, dance, music and so on. This chakra also deals with the issue of truth and the true expression of the soul. The power of the word or sound, communication, words reflect our whole being and can create great imbalance if negative. This chakra can hold a lot of suppressed anger and words unsaid, unexpressed trauma or emotional issues.

The throat chakra is developed in many people, however, in few is it purified. The development of the chakras in most people has tended to by pass the heart, therefore one often finds the lower chakras have been developed, the heart has been missed, and the throat and third eye have been developed. Like the lower chakras, the throat chakras has also seen abuse of energy throughout many lives. It has been used to abuse power through the misuse of speech. Speech can be a powerful tool, it can be used to persuade others, to mislead others, to emotionally wound and maim others etc. People have misused their speech to corrupt the minds of others, to play word games, to deceive, to lie and cheat. The misuse of speech is all around us.

Your speech can convey so much, you can use it to persuade, to convince and to chastise. It is not only the words which do this, it is the energy behind the words. As you become more sensitive you also become more sensitive to the energy people emit. You start to know a great deal about people by what they say, you find that as they speak, their words may say one thing but their energy says something quite different. You start to read between the lines of what people say because of the energy that is behind their words.

The throat chakra when awakened, can give clairaudience (an ability to hear on the inner and to receive guidance/messages). It can also give the gift of writing and teaching. When this Chakra is purified the speech is pure, it is full of love and passion.

Just as the sacral chakra is a chakra of creativity, which is primarily expressed through procreation, the throat chakra, when awoken is a chakra of creativity. The creative energy may be expressed through one's speech, or writing, or music, or art, etc. It can manifest in many fields of endeavours. If the heart is also involved then one finds a beautiful piece of music or art or writing because of the love being expressed. When in a state of balance the throat chakra vibrates to the colour sky blue.

Hi Christine

So would that mean that since I saw the rainbows light emanate from the heart chakra, would that mean that I have a balance within the chakras? or that dueing the meditation all chakras had combined as one?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks

Hi Angel,
I think it would mean that for that brief moment all of the chakras were aligned and you were shown a moment of balance and perfection I guess. The difficulty is that we step out into the world and out of the meditation and our chakras are affected by everything around us.
When I was completing my Diploma in Holistic healing I had a similar experience during a chakra meditation. You can do a mediation to specifically see the chakras in this way.

The Third Eye Chakra
« Reply #10 on: November 19, 2005, 09:54:49 PM »
6. The Third Eye Chakra

The third eye is situated in the middle of the forehead, above the eyebrows.
It has 96 petals, although some Indian scriptures describe the third eye as having only two petals because this chakra appears to have two halves, it is only on closer observation that one sees that each half is further subdivided into 48 divisions, or petals. (note the large leap from 16 petals in the throat centre to 96 in the third eye.)
The third eye governs the left eye, the lower brain, the nose and nervous system. When we discussed the root chakra, we found that when any of the chakras cleanse you may get effects in the local areas. Similarly when the third eye cleanses you may get eye lid irritation, burning and stinging of the eyes.
The endocrine gland is the pituitary.
The associated level of consciousness is higher mental.

It is the eye of the soul to see with love. The conscious or subconscious union. Intuition, clairvoyance, telepathy. When you have fully developed intuitive powers you are truly in command of self Divine perfection is witnessed within all earthly matters. We become `one eye', the two physical eyes are the third eye making a triangle of one eye that sees all as Divine. There is great responsibility which goes with this. So the third eye is not truly open until we are ready for this. The clarity is blocked if there are prejudices and judgments.

It oversees the activities of the chakras below it. It balances the power of mind and mental reasoning. It deals with the issues of developing and trusting intuition in our life, allowing soul knowledge through and developing and using high sense perception as a life skill. With the awakening of the third eye as stated before, clairvoyance, telepathic communication with others and perception develop. Both the solar plexus and third eye, when awoken, confer upon people consciousness, whereas the third eye relates more to the higher levels. The third eye may be very developed in many but it is not necessarily awoken and purified.

Like the other chakras the third eye has seen much abuse and needs much cleansing. You may notice some people who seem have a lot of energy around their third eye, it feels intense. However, it is usually not purified and you may even feel a little uneasy when you look intently toward the third eye of that person because you sense something in that person. It is often seen in people with a very developed mental body and a lot of mental energy which seems to be focused around the third eye. Perhaps some of the abuse that has occurred with the third eye has been abuse from intellect and mental energy. For the mentally developed can use their intellect to manipulate others, and can use it to gain power in many ways. Even within our work force people of intellect can gain `command' positions and use that as a position of power over employees. A strong mental energy, being directed through a darkened third eye, can be intimidating, if not frightening. It can squash a softer, or less mental personality type. The third eye can become damaged by the consumption of too much chocolate. When in a state of balance the third eye chakra vibrates to the colour violet.

The Crown Chakra
« Reply #11 on: November 19, 2005, 09:58:45 PM »
7. The Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is located on the top of the head.
It has 960 petals.
It governs the upper brain and right eye.
The endocrine gland is the pineal.
The associated level of consciousness is the soul and spirit.

This chakra is usually the last to be awakened. In the beginning it is the same size as the others, but as the man progresses on the path of spiritual advancement it increases steadily until it covers almost the whole top of the head. It is at first a depression in the subtle bodies, as are all the others, because through it, as through them, the divine force flows in from without, but when, man realises his position as a source of divine light, this chakra reverses itself, turning as it were, inside out. It is then no longer a channel of reception but of radiation, no longer a depression but a prominence standing out from the head.

By the time the crown chakra is awakening one is in the later stages of one's spiritual development. The vehicles of the personality have been progressively purified and refined throughout many lives, and the will of the personality has been steadily surrendered to a much higher will, namely that of the soul and Spirit. Therefore the crown chakra is associated with Spirit or Divine Will. When the crown chakra is awakened one is aligned to the soul and Spirit, one has cosmic consciousness. The crown chakra provides a direct link with the Source and deals with all issues of spirituality. The centre of pure knowing, inner wisdom, total inspiration, open to spiritual and cosmic truth. Our personal divine energy becomes defined into individual and personal purpose. The state of oneness is assimilated and channeled into the rest of the physical chakras. When fully developed there is a vast aura of light. When the energy of all chakras is integrated and the third eye and crown are open, the union of male and female energies takes place, the sacred marriage. When in a state of balance, the crown chakra vibrates to the colour pure white.

The Awakening of the chakras

8. The Thymus or High Heart Chakra

The Thymus chakra is located midway between the throat chakra and the heart chakra, right at the thymus gland. This chakra is located where the clavicle bones (collar bones) join the upper end of the sternum. For lack of a better term this chakra is referred to the high heart chakra. As discussed in the heart chakra information, the thymus gland is
related to the immune system of the body.

The thymus glands consist of separate lobes which reside just above and in contact with the heart. They are protected on the front side by the sternum. Attached to the upper extremity of each of the main thymus lobes, is an elongated lobe which extends virtually to the lower extremity of the thyroid glands

These have usually been considered to be simply extensions of the thymus glands. These are referred to as the cervical extensions. However, it has now been revealed that these two extensions are a separate pair of glands, with functions that are distinct from the primary thyroid glands. At some point in the future, when more is learned about their function, they will undoubtedly receive their own unique name. Just as medical science has essentially ignored the cervical extension, so also has metaphysical science ignored the associated chakra.

Although the hormonal functions of the cervical extensions have not yet been identified, one fact that is known is that there are a large number of nerve fibres which originate with the cervical extensions. These link into the sympathetic nervous system. We may therefore assume that these glands, functioning in conjunction with the High heart chakra, perceive and transmit sensory impulses.

In the human form, the original zygote is located near the focal point of the high heart chakra, termed the genea-zero point. The embryo, and later the foetus, build out all of the features of the human body from that point of origin, utilising the blue print contained in the genes.

In an overview of the situation, changes are taking place in the human form, thus changes are taking place in the DNA structures of our genes. These changes are being directed by intelligent impulses of energy received through our high heart chakra. These impulses are received by the receptor cells within the cervical extensions of the thymus, where the information is translated into instructions for the pharmacology within the glands, this in effect generates hormones and perhaps other substances which alter the DNA within our genes. It has further been observed that the geometric centre of our Light body also coincides with the located of our original zygote, at the focal point of the high heart chakra.

I doubt that we can actively purify the high heart chakra, I feel we evolve into it through allowance. It is opened through Grace, not of works, and functions with the feminine energy of allowance. It is the seat of Christ consciousness and transformation within our bodies, being the home of the original zygote and geometrical centre of the Light body.

The high heart chakra assists humanity with our merging of the 4th dimension into the 5th dimension. It gives us loving communication, not only with others in this dimension, but with out Higher Self, Guides and Multi-dimensional beings. It acts as a converter and filter from the higher vibrational energies, which are electrostatic energy. To be converted and filtered into electromagnetic energy, which is what we are. This gives us a much greater energy field. It promotes good health and immunity through the thymus glands and assists us to flow through this great time of change, and heightened vibration with love and acceptance.

In conclusion, primarily the human being consists of 7 major chakras as vortexual energy points within the human body. They integrate cosmic or stellar energies into physicality, that is our solar self which consists of the four bodies - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves which are aligned as a unified solar being, immersed in duality - 2 hands, 2 feet, etc. For us to exist in this system energy must be either stepped up or stepped down depending on which way we wish to access interdimensional planes of experience or being. The seven chakras naturally relate to the seven rays of colour. `Light' in the solar system is broken down into its seven rays so that we can manifest in the form that we do. All other beings that enter this world must also integrate into our solar system to take form in a level which we can relate to.

With the activation of the high heart chakra a `new' form of being within ourselves is being activated. This is, in fact an `old' energy form which is being mirrored from a previous time and era, namely the period around 2529 BC when the last similar planetary alignments took place (the Grand Alignment in Taurus).

Our seven chakra system is changing to an eight system. However, the chakras must first be purified. The power contained within the eighth chakra is directly proportionate to the power of the combined cleansed, balanced and harmonised seven chakras. Activation of the kundalini energy will result and be felt as the Earth energy is released from its apparent sleep (the age of Darkness). It will be experienced within the Earth and within our being, because our physical self is also made of the Earth.

The awakening of the chakras is a subject which has a lot of intrigue about it. Many people are interested to learn about the chakras and their awakening because they know that an awakened chakra can give certain abilities, such as clairvoyance of varying kinds, inner knowledge and in the case of the crown chakra, even cosmic consciousness. However, this intrigue is often enveloped in glamour and an unholy ambition to achieve certain abilities. The chakras will awaken naturally throughout many lives, both on Earth and on the inner levels. It is preferable and wise to allow this process to happen naturally and not to attempt the premature opening of any of the chakras.

Learning about Chakras

Sorry Christine, for a late reply.

I have beening reading alot about the chakras, to find out about the experience that I had. Plus reading up about the Kundalini, the reserved psychic energy at the base of the spin, also about prana.

I think for a brief moment that I had tapped, into awaken the Kundalini, but I pull back from it. Also I don't think that I am ready for that, at this present time.

So, you too, have had a similar experience, so do you think that you have awaken the Kundalini for a brief moment as well?

Or is that something that you would like to, in the new future?

Hmm. I have heard of people going 'very strange' from awakening kundalini. It is not something I aim to do at this point.
