We have look deeper into the history was driver of this haunted stone cottage or hut that was haunted?
Goulburn Evening Penny Post (NSW : 1881 - 1940), Saturday 18 February 1888, page 3 reported the following incident.
A Fatal Accident near Burrowa. INFORMATION reached Burrowa on Thursday evening that Mr. Patrick Hardiman, second son of Mr. James Hardiman, grazier, met with a fatal accident by being thrown against a tree in Springfield paddocks.
The accident happened about 7.30pm, and his death occurred two hours later. Dr. Prothroe was sent for, but life had ceased before his arrival. Deceased and another young man were trying a racing colt and filly in the vicinity of the drafting yards.
A dog rushed out, and Mr. Hardiman's horse ran him against a tree, His injuries were not believed to be serious at the time, for deceased walked to a hut near at hand, and up to the moment of his death he was conscious. Suddenly lie raised himself in his bed and spoke to those present, saying he was dying, and death resulted immediately after. Deceased was a fine young man, 28years of age, and was well liked by everybody.
Was this the stone hut where Hardiman died became the haunted hut or stone cottage that became haunted after his death. The very hut that was later demolished because of it being haunted?
