I am planning on doing a hidden laneways tour of Melbourne in a few months. I will take photos for you.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Wow hidden lane way tours. Absolutely fantastic Christine. I was raised in Richmond and there were laneways everywhere at that time where we would play and forget the time.

It might sound strange but.

Some times when I research people your flat out just finding birth death and Marriages and nothing about who the person was? With Annie it was if she had spoken to me through old documents I had found in the strangest of places to tell her story.

I know where and when she was born, her father first wife, her mother, occupation of her father and his bankruptcies. Places where her and her brother lived and went to school. Her brother occupation. Her taste in clothes, her friends, neighbors, her husband and even the life of her eventual murder. Her story was waiting to be told. I have enough for a 300 page book.

Ironic as her name only came to light after some detective work sparked by what if? From the original tale of the nameless ghost haunting the back alleys of Melbourne.

Christine I would indeed enjoy very much if you get the chance to take some pictures  of the street. I would be interested if you can sense a presence with your gifts.

An update on this story. A good friend of mine in the United States is interested in coming back to Australia to possible make a period tele-movie based on Ann Thornton's murder and haunting. Filmed in back streets of Melbourne with a blend of  late 19th century scenes and Modern day Scenes with a twist.

We will see how it develops.

We haven't done the tour yet. It's on the To Do list though.

With overcrowding and shortage of housing and violent murders of women. it seems this story was as relevant back then as it is today. It seems sadly nothing has changed and we still have not learned from our mistakes.
