Preparedness
« on: December 02, 2012, 08:20:39 PM »
I have decided to start a kit and add to it bit by bit.

I was thinking about what you need to survive.

Water, shelter, food.

To kill bugs in water, boiling is a good option. So you would need fire.

So matches would eventually run out. You need to know how to make fire. In comes Mr Flint. $1 on ebay with free postage. Good for up to 1000 or more strikes. Bargain.

I also read that leaving water in a plastic bottle in the sun will work. But it takes many hours. You can leave it on a black surface eg a rock to make it ill the bugs faster or on one of those space blankets. Space blanket in ebay $1 with free postage. Bargain. Will also help to maintain body heat. Extra good bargain.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Well, if the world is going to end on the 21st December, I have bought all my Xmas pressies for nothing and  I should eat my xmas dinner now.  There maybe a catastophe down the track sometime in the future, (and we will be the last to know when) and we need to prepare for that, but 21st December, gee, our b and b isn't looking too good.  There will be no one to share it with......

Don't forget the Promite! ;) Which doomsday scenario are you preparing for Christine?

I've been watching a few episodes of doomsday preppers. Oh boy some of their stockpiles are massive!

Not sure yet, I see an apocalyptic scenario but not the cause. I am thinking biological perhaps though.

pandemic is most likely i think.  A long incubation period with a quick kill ...

If you cannot love, then at least don't hate.
If you cannot help, then at least don't hurt.
