A container put underground where only you know where the food is might be a good idea.

I have seen that done for valuables. It wouldn't hold much food though.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Dig a huge hole and put underground a few big metal containers and cover them with bushes. But then access becomes a problem
every time you want to add or take out food.

Yep. I do like the idea of a root cellar though. I have to replace some of tmy floors in this house and there is some space underneath. Can't work out how to make it work with carpet on top though.

Can't afford floor boards so will have to use chipboard for the floors. The place isn't insulated in that room so it would not only look bad but be freezing cold. So mats isn't an option. If I could afford floorboards, I coud insulate before they went down and maybe use mats but alas....even less money now due to CAPITAL GAINS ((bad language is unacceptable on this forum)ING) TAX

What about a cellar in the corner of the room, where you would not secure the carpet down in that particular corner and put a piece of furniture over it.

I was thinking about boxes under the floor, I couldn't afford a cellar.

Yes, boxes under the floor would be perfect. Thinking about doing that with our next place.

With the box under the floor idea, can we put certain people from Canberra in it.
If you can stand the smell of beef jerky, its a good option too lol.

Those food packs are actually quite good - the pricing is not bad really either especially for what you get. And I could eat them (for a change!). Much better than beef jerk-off.

On a lighter note I dreamt last night Barak and Michelle Obama were helping me get food out of my fridge and helping me rearrange it all ( How bizarre! ).....
