Six signs of a haunting
« on: August 20, 2011, 10:33:15 AM »
Six Signs that could indicate a Haunting

1. Pets react to something others can't see, such as growling at thin air, or refusing to go in a particular room. A dog's hackles may rise.

2. People in the household are having nightmares.

3. Objects are mysteriously misplaced and often returned just as mysteriously.

4. Electrical appliances turn themselves on or off or tap water turns on or toilets flush by themselves.

5. Unexplained cold drafts or cold spots are felt.

6. Footsteps, raps on the walls, or voices are heard.

This is so interesting. As long as it's at someone else's house.

"Yo Yo

'Cause I'm a ghost,
an' dats my biz.
Haunt it to your mother"

Ah a classic Mrs Slocombe line.

A better direct quote may have been

"Animals are very psychic; the least sign of danger and my pussy's hair stands on end"
Man will believe the impossible, but never the improbable

Well, mine was more subtle.  The 'Pets' and the 'Hugh (heffner)' link tickled me like a pair of fluffy handcuffs ROFLMAO

Had an eerie experience while staying at a cheap hotel while looking for a place to live in Perth. I thought it was my imagination but could feel someone watching me while having a shower (this happened a few times) and the hotel room was empty as my other half had not arrived yet.

I also had nightmares and my mind was playing up, like thinking irrational thoughts. When my other have arrived at this hotel she told me later after we left (a week later) that she could not wait to get out of there as she felt someone touching her and felt cold spots.

I really feel looking back that someone or something was in the old hotel and was playing with my mine as I thought I was going crazy. Next time we stay at a hotel I will use some protection (white lighting).

Always a good idea Alien.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Alien its a must in a Hotel Alien.  You have no idea who was in the room before you.  How is Perth?   Better than the last place?

Alien how creepy! A great story to remind me to whitelight when staying in hotels. Even when spotless they often have a certain dirty feeling.

I booked a 'deal' online once and when I stepped into the room I couldn't stop thinking how perfect it was for committing suicide. Blecchh.

The first three from the OP's list happen in my house regularly, but it's "clean" as far as ghosties go.

I have lived in a pretty active haunted place before. I really enjoyed it :D
Look, I know the supernatural is something that isn't supposed to happen, but it does happen...

When I was a little girl we lived in an old 2 storey farmhouse with wooded floor boards.   When my mum and baby brothers and I were down stairs you could hear footsteps walking about upstairs and the cupboards opening and shutting.  We had a dark dingy stair case that was closed over in the upper part with a very tight turn and quite often as you were about to negotiate that step something would rush down and push past you.  It nearly knocked me over on many an occasion.   The ghosties never really bothered any of us, they were just there!

Sometimes we can just all live together and accept one another.
