My Niece lives in the north Richmond area of Sydney, and although she hasn't seen a big cat, she told me that one must exist, as she *has* seen a carcass with claw marks up a tree...

Have been to north Richmond and the general area years ago. I recall the area (way back in 1990) to be very bushy with loads of open spaces. A big cat could easily live there without detection.
