Eye Spy With My Little Eye
« on: November 17, 2015, 05:43:50 PM »
Been shooting some weird pictures for the National Photographic Portrait Prize.  I was doing closeups of my eye.  In infrared.

But one of the images has left me nonplussed.  I cannot explain it.  I have never come across a picture I cannot explain even if the explanation is just a 'could be' ...

Love the shards of the iris and the gleam on the eyeball, Gary: that's exquisite focus.

I see a bearded man's face in three-quarter profile, in the sclera at the corner of your eye. His eyes look unusual. Perhaps like they're glowing. If you zoom you can see his pupils and irises. There could be a cross to the right of his face. Possibly he's wearing some sort of collar.

Though some of the shapes / reflections have you baffled, can any be explained Gary?

This is a total mystery to me.  The bearded oldish man is totally unexplainable to me.  I have checked out the whole room and can find nothing that explains it.  I've tried to think of anyone he reminds me of - but I cant recall anyone.

Yes, a bearded man. So easy to see.

Very cool. Very cool indeed.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Looking at him again he might be wearing a hood.

I thought I was missing something, but finally I can see what looks like a bearded man with a bulbous nose and the rest as per Bronwyn.

Could it be the "totallity" of a number of other reflections coming together as one, to form this "illusion"?

I have tried many times to reproduce this with no avail.  Nothing anywhere like it occurs.  So I am totally stumped.  I suspect that it IS complex reflections but if so, it was a one in a billion shot LOL.

Gary, I would agree that the reflection could certainly be one in a billion, but the other possibility is still a "could be"!!

Perhaps it is my personal demon...  or angel.  Or doppleganger (be just my luck to be the only person with a perfect double that looks nothing like me...)

Gary, you mean you don't have a bulbous nose? ROFL
