Start with reading for yourself first.

> Yes that's how I started.

Usually I teach to shuffle with your question in mind. When I shuffle I do so til the cards tell me to stop (not as weird as it sounds)

> Ditto

and I am programmed to find the answers in the middle of the deck so for example after I shuffle I will automatically split the deck into 3 piles allowing the deck to tell me where to split it and then reassembling the card deck with the middle pile on the top. There lies the answers.

> I use to take from the top or bottom. Now I tend to fan the deck out and pick the one that "talks" to me haha

So start with those steps first.

> Good advice :)

Simon if it's of any help some one of the things I did at the beginning was to ask lots of questions for myself. They weren't all deep and meaningful they were just to play with the cards. I would also ask the cards the same or similar questions to see how they responded (after shuffling well or placing different questions between). It's really fascinating to see what happens and it's good for learning too.

I also only used one deck. It's only been recently that I've moved onto other decks. Using the one deck gave me a firm foundation.

I thought so lol
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Christine and Roma, that you for your advice I feel a lot better now.

I am learning so much and in all areas.

I feel I am a much more confident and centred person now than I have been for some years, "lost in my own designed wilderness of my mind".

Hi Simon,

the other members have great tips, we all do things a bit differently from each other - this takes time and I am still learning :) That is why I like the forum as it  stimulates me and I am inspired.

One way exercise I learned was to draw one card in the morning and in the evening come back and write a few lines about the day in a notebook.

It is very intriguing when you start to see a pattern or a theme ...

I've heard that's helpful Lapismoon. I've always been too slack to do it though  :o

Lapismoon, great idea. I am used to keeping notes of my dreams if I feel they are important.

Will start tomorrow with my Starseed Tarot Deck only because it was the first image to pop in my head.

Yes Roma sometimes its hard to stick too but a few lines can be enough to prompt your memory! I usually do it in spurts of inspiration and then forget.  It is good to do for a month as you can see a pattern

You've inspired me. I'm curious to see what pops up. I'll just keep it to as few words as possible. Thanks  :)
